This is a follow-up step after 'Availability Request'. And can only be when the Resource is assigned on a booking line.

Let's understand this through another example.

So, let's say, in the above step, you asked 10 buddies to express their interest about the road trip. And only 4 of the replied in affirmation. So, now you know who is on your side. And that's where you fill them in with intricate details of the trip.

When would you leave? Whose car are we taking? Where are you staying? How much is it going to cost per-person? etc. etc.

Now based on the questions and their individual answers, these 4 buddies can either say..."Sure Pal, Count me in". or "Oh No. Not my kind of trip".

 

That's what we do in Confirmation Request. This is a final acceptance the recipient has agreed to be available on a specific job/dates.

How to send confirmation request to the resource?

Before you begin,

 

Workflow

  1. Open the Order in Planning Order.

  2. Assign a resource to the booking line.

  1. Select the booking line and click the Send Confirmation request icon.

  1. Send Confirmation window displays.

Click Expand to view the full window.

  1. Add the recipient. A preview of the e-mail content is shown.

  1. Click Send button.

  2. Then Save the order so the request will be sent to the recipient.

  3. An e-mail will be triggered to the tagged recipient along with the iCal as attachment. Recipient can add the iCal event to their calendars. Want to know how?

Upon the crew response, you will receive the e-mail of their response and the e-mail sits in the mail box in application as shown below.

The same way, you can send the request from the other access points as well.

 

How to add the iCal event to the Calendar?

  1. To add the iCal event to resource calendar, click the arrow button on the attachment in the received confirmation e-mail.

  2. In the dropdown menu, click ‘Open’.

  1. Click ‘Yes’ on the dialog box that opens.

  1. This will open the attachment as a calendar event.

  2. Click ‘Save & Close’ to add the event to your calendar.

The iCal event shows in the calendar.
